Weeping Willows were always my favorite when I was young. As an adult, I still love the looks of them, but I think they're messy & wouldn't want one in my yard. I think they were planted near farm houses because of the wonderful shade, plus they are a good climbing tree for the kids.
That is so true--most farms did/do have a weeping willow on the property near the house! I wonder why that is?

ReplyDeleteOur neighbors had one we could play under and be almost hidden...perfect for kids!
ReplyDeleteI think they are beautiful. My friend made baskets from them. She was very talented.
ReplyDeleteI never thought about climbing one, but sure had fun hiding under them, we had a lot of other trees to climb.
