Magic Cookie Bars

My daughter, Amy, wanted to make some bars for a potluck dinner she was going to. She picked out this recipe from Borden Delicious Desserts Made Easy.
She is a good cook, but a lousy photo taker, so I am using the photo in the cookbook. On the other hand, I am happy to report that all the bars were eaten at the potluck.
For a easy, quick and tasty treat try making these. I think the recipe as been around as long as Eagle Brand Milk has.
Magic Cookie Bar
½ cup butter
1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs*
1 (14 ounce) can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk (Not Evaporated Milk)
1 (6 ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips
1 ⅓ cups flaked sweetened coconut
1 cup chopped nuts (In our houses that is Pecans)
Preheat oven to 350°F, In a 13 x 9 inch baking pan, melt butter In oven. Sprinkle crumbs over butter,  cover evenly with the coconut, sprinkle with the chocolate chips and than the chopped nuts. Pour eagle brand over all, press down firmly.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool before cutting. Store loosely covered.
*Any left over cookies could be used for the crumbs
You can sub 1 (6 ounce) package dried apricots chopped for chocolate chips. Almonds work well with the apricots.
Change chocolate chips for your favorite type of chip. Mint Chocolate chips are good or try M & M’s for a change of pace.
