This is the Sloppy Joe for folks who don’t like as much tomato, like my husband. We enjoyed this for lunch today; on homemade Onion Buns with homecanned Corn Relish. It made about 6 medium buns. I would think about starting to heat the sauce in my small slow cooker while I browned the hamburger, and then combine it and keep it warm for a company meal. Add a salad and dessert and you’re set.
Is this a canning project?? Maybe. It doesn't take long to make, but heating and eating may be really good too.
Onion Burgers
1 Pound Hamburger -- crumbled
1 Can Condensed Onion Soup1 Tablespoon Catsup
1 Tablespoon Mustard
1/2 Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 Teaspoon A-1® Steak Sauce
1 Teaspoon Heinz 57 Sauce
Salt and Pepper -- to taste
Brown meat and drain any fat. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 5 - 10 minutes.
You are making my mouth water and it's only 2:30 pm - not time for dinner yet! Looks delicious!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to try this version. The only way I make Sloppy Joes for my sons is with Chicken Gumbo Soup. It's 1.5 pounds of ground beef, 1 can Chicken Gumbo Soup, 1/2 c. barbecue sauce, 1/3 c. ketchup, and some onion (I use a tablespoon of dried). I brown the burger, drain, and then add the rest and let it simmer for 20 to 30 minutes (however long it takes for the Tator Tots to cook).
