Tuna-Salad Crescent-wiches
2 (61/2) cans tuna, drained & flaked
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
1/2 cup finely chopped Dill Pickles
1/2 cup finely chopped water chestnuts, Optional
1/2 cup salad dressing or mayo
2 - 8 oz. cans Crescent Rolls
8 - American Cheese slices, Optional
Heat oven to 375°F Combine tuna, celery, pickle, water chestnuts, if using and salad dressing. Separate crescent dough into 8 rectangles; firmly press perforations to seal. Spoon about 1/2 cup tuna mixture on one end of each rectangle;. Fold dough in half over filling; press edges with fork to seal.
Bake at 375° on ungreased cookie sheet for 15 to 18 minutes or until light golden brown. Remove from oven and top each with cheese slice return to oven for 3 to 5 minutes or until cheese softens. Serve immediately. 8 sandwiches
