Grant Wood's Stone City, Iowa
In 1932, Wood helped found the Stone City Art Colony near his hometown  of Cedar Rapids to help artists get through the Great Depression.

    I must confess that if someone showed me this photo I never would guess that it was shot in Iowa. It is truly stunning!
