Hot and Buttery |
While trying to decide what to make with Bisquick, I thought well, what Bisquick does best is biscuits. I don’t make biscuits from scratch, though Sue does, and it is all of 20 years since I have made them for anything but strawberry shortcake, when I make drop biscuits so this was a little different.
I was fixing a casserole for supper and my daughter and grandson stayed to eat with us so the whole recipe worked great. Everyone enjoyed having warm biscuits and Bettie, who grew up with hot biscuits of some type with every meal was glad to have them.
This is a easy and sure fire way to have a hot bread in a hurry and easy to store. You can make your own biscuit mix, and there are several brands of mixes in the store, but Bisquick was what we grew up with. I don't remember our Mom making any other kind. So for all you moms in a hurry, try these and if you really want to do them fast, add a tad more liquid and drop them from a spoon. No rolling or patting out. So straight from the box, here are the directions.
Just before he ate it |
Bisquick Biscuits
9 biscuits
2 ¼ cups Original Bisquick mix
⅔ cup milk
Heat oven to 450°F. Stir ingredients until soft dough forms. Place the dough on a flat surface sprinkled with Bisquick mix. Knead 10 times.
Roll or pat dough till ½ inch thick. Cut with a 2 ½ inch cutter (straight down); place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy!
Told you it was easy!
