    never seen a checkerboard water tower. Ours all tend to be white with a blue trim/writing here in Southern Ontario

      They aren't common here either! They are usually painted pale sky blue, or decorated with the local high school sports team mascot.
      Ontario is a beautiful place...nice to hear from you.
