Asparagus is an old homestead vegetable - once established, it comes back every year with minimal care.
Sautéed Asparagus With Bacon
2 Slices Bacon -- cut in 1" pieces
2 Bunches Asparagus -- 2 pounds, trimmed
2 Teaspoons Dijon Mustard
3 Tablespoons Fresh Parsley
In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium, stirring occasionally, until browned and crisp, 8-10 minutes.
With a slotted spoon, transfer to paper towels to drain.
Add 2 bunches asparagus, trimmed and cut in 1" pieces to skillet and season with coarse salt and pepper. Cook, stirring, until asparagus is tender, about 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in bacon, Dijon mustard and fresh parsley.

Your picture of the asparagus had me salivating! We just planted our asparagus last year so this year we'll get only a minimal harvest. Both hubby and I can make a meal out of lightly cooked asparagus, butter and some salt. Can hardly wait for our patch to produce lots and lots in years to come.
