Toasted Buttered Corn Bread
There are lots of kinds of bread that might be a candidate for discarding, but can be made into something delicious.  Grandma had the secret… French toast for one idea, and bread pudding that can be made from many kinds of sliced bread. 
  • Leftover quick breads like corn bread can be split and toasted, and served with some kind of creamed meat or vegetable, sausage gravy  or chili. 
  • Hamburger and hot dog buns make excellent bread stuffing, and also make good garlic toast…buttered, sprinkled with garlic salt and a little parmesan, and toasted in the oven. 
  • Muffins and biscuits can be buttered, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, and toasted lightly in the oven.
