Farm, complete with chickens, work horses, milk cows, barns, coops...on the edge of our hometown...photo taken from our childhood home's yard. |
Do you remember...
When winter seemed colder and snowier than nowadays?
When you lived in town but a farm like this one was across the street?
When a farm still might use work horses and a wood stove?
When snow like this meant sledding, ice skating, snow forts?
When winter meant playing outside no matter how cold and snowy it was?
I remember but prefer staying in the warm house now!
ReplyDeleteWell, we're with you there! Especially this winter here. We may actually wake up above zero tomorrow!
DeleteI do remember . . . with nostalgia and love for my big, extended family. There were thirteen of us cousins who were together a lot. We played outside many days in the winter (so many snowmen built) and I do remember being very cold a couple of times. No wonder as we sure didn't have the type of clothing that kept us as warm as we do today.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, those Minnesota winters and the great snow forts our dad helped us build so all the neighbor kids could have snowball fights. We divided up into teams.
DeleteI certainly do remember! And I wish we could go back to those happy days on the farm.
ReplyDeleteI would like to be young enough to enjoy the snow again, carefree days when we were young
