I suppose I must have had a raincoat or two as a child, but I can't for the life of me remember any. I do remember carrying an umbrella. We lived kitty-corner from my grade school . . . so maybe the umbrella was enough.
I get upset every time I see a school bus picking up our town kids. The larger percentage of pupils are out of walking distance to school, but why do the buses have to take the time and energy to pick up kids two blocks from school? (Can you tell this irritates me?)
We walked all of our school years, about a mile one way. Here the buses have gone to picking up the town kids but they have to live so far from the school before they can ride. Works well so far.
We really thought we were something in those raincoats. They were such a pretty blue plaid and really capes not coats. Couldn't wait for the first rain storm after we got them. LOL
