Small Recipes.....Creamy Celery Salad Dressing

So you do not have a lot of bottles of dressing that you won’t get around to using try this salad dressing to make in a small amount for one or two. I make it and use what little is left as a dip for some chicken strips the next day. It will thicken up some and the flavor will be much better if you make it earlier in the morning you are going to use it or the night before. This is one of the times I think the dried chives work better than the fresh. They will hold their flavor longer and not dilute the thickness of the dressing.
When you eat GF free making your own dressings for salads also gives you control of what is in it. I used white wine vinegar but feel free to use the vinegar of your choice. I don’t believe I would use cider vinegar but any other type should work fine.
Creamy Celery Seed Dressing
½ cup commercial sour cream
2 tablespoons milk (I use ½ and ½)
1 teaspoon celery seeds
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
Dried chives to taste (about 1 Tablespoon)
1 tablespoon vinegar
Directions
Combine sour cream, milk, chives, celery seeds, salt and pepper in a small bowl: mix well. Blend in vinegar. Refrigerate until ready to use.
You can serve it with molded vegetable salads, cucumbers, tomatoes or tossed mixed greens or chef salads for a main meal.
