We stopped in New Sharon, Iowa yesterday at one of my favorite antique haunts...the R Ranch ...an old opera house converted to a large shop crammed with lots of dishware and kitchen collectibles. I have a hard time getting out of there without buying something - with my husband saying "Where are you going to put it?".
The owner pointed out that all the fancywork on the building facade is not wood, but metal, rusting when they purchased it 16 years ago.
While in New Sharon, you have to go a few blocks south of here to Vic's Dairy Creme, for the best soft-serve ice cream ever.
