Spinach Turkey Burgers

These turkey burgers are excellent.  They are good both in buns or for less calories, simply grilled or browned in a pan to serve with a side of vegetables.  They are simple to make and cook up quickly.  The seasonings and stuffing mix takes them out of the bland category.  I served them on Whole Wheat Mustard Buns.
Spinach Turkey Burgers
1            Cup  Stuffing Mix -- finely crushed
     1/3     Cup  Chicken Broth
     1/2     Teaspoon  Italian Seasoning
     1/4     Teaspoon  Salt
     1/4     Teaspoon  Pepper
5            Ounces  Frozen Chopped Spinach -- thawed and squeezed dry
  1            Pound  Ground Turkey
  4            Each  Sandwich Buns
Cheese, Lettuce and Tomatoes -- optional
Combine stuffing mix, broth, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper and the spinach.  Crumble turkey over mixture and mix well.  Shape into four 3/4" thick patties.
Grill, uncovered, over medium-hot heat or broil 3-4 inches from the heat for 3-4 minutes on each side or until juices run clear.
Serve on buns with cheese, lettuce and tomato if desired.

    1. Yes, I used Stovetop for the stuffing mix; any stuffing mix would do because you need to crush it some. Actually, I think Panko bread crumbs would also work well; you could just add a little sage and thyme to taste.
The crumbs need to be dry and crispy and bigger than regular bread crumbs.
This is the first time I actually though turkey burgers could be tasty and not bland.

  2. Thanks so much for all your wonderful recipes. I have used so many of them. This turkey burger sounds so good that I will try to make them this week. Love your blog.

  3. This is an embarrasing question but I picked up chopped broccali instead of spinach at the store. Do you think I can sub that for the spinach if I chop it a little finer?

    1. I think another kind of greens, like kale, would work - but you might want to cook your broccoli and just have your turkey burgers without the spinach. I don't think you'd be happy with broccoli in this recipe.
