Sunday in Iowa...
When the winter winds are bitter, farmers with a long distance from the house to the road often provide a small shelter for the kids while they wait for the schoolbus at the end of the lane. We liked this lighthouse-style one on county road F67 between North English and Joetown, in Iowa County.

We have lots of those shelters at the end of long driveways up here in northern Minnesota, too. But this one has got to be the most imaginative and classiest I've seen. Built by a doting grandfather maybe?
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful place to wait for the bus. It would be hard to leave it once the bus arrived!
