Cookbook Reviews...Holiday Recipe Card Collection
This cookbook is Taste of Home’s Holiday Recipe Card Collection for the year 2002. The problem I had was it is difficult to a make a bad choice. Nice to have recipes to try but tough to limit to ones you want for posting on the blog.
Try the ones we made and if you can find one, buy a copy of the book and try the rest.
As usual, we tried different things. Sue and I seldom pick the same recipe, so it works out well for us. I rarely bake breads or make salads anymore and she doesn’t do much of the dessert type recipes. Gives us a good balance and not so much trouble picking out recipes to make.
Here's the recipe for the Pineapple Upside Down Cake on the cover:
ReplyDeleteINGREDIENTS
6 canned pineapple slices
6 maraschino cherries
1 cup chopped walnuts, divided
1 package (18-1/4 ounces) white cake mix
DIRECTIONS
Place pineapple slices in a greased and floured 10-in. tube pan. Place a cherry in the center of each slice. Sprinkle half of the walnuts around the pineapple. Prepare cake mix according to package directions; spoon batter over pineapple layer. Sprinkle with remaining nuts.
Bake at 350° for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely. Yield: 10 servings.
