We don't know of anything that is more "Iowa"
than a table-full of warm, delicious garden tomatoes, just picked and waiting to be eaten and canned. A perfect if fleeting taste of summer.
At Don and Bonnie's homestead...I "picked" my bucket of tomatoes right off the table! We took some home to share with Myrna, along with Muscatine cantaloupe right from the garden and a couple quarts of freshly canned tomato-vegetable juice blend, which is even more delicious than V-8.
