Baked Glazed Spam

This was one of my Dad’s favorite meals. He liked it with baked potatoes, which of course were from our garden.
Either Green Beans or Peas were the vegtable of choice. Today I still fix this as all of us enjoy it. Not often, as Spam has a lot of sodium and we don’t like the low salt one. Just don’t have it as often.
The Original Baked Spam

1 teaspoon Water
Whole cloves

Heat oven to 375F. Place SPAM on rack in shallow baking pan. Score surface; stud with cloves. combine brown sugar, water, mustard, and vinegar, stirring until smooth. Brush glaze over SPAM. Bake 20 minutes, basting often. Slice to serve.

  1. Thanks for posting this--I am working on making some vintage spam recipes and the instructions said "use the recipe on the side of the can." I figure yours come pretty close!

  2. This is the recipe I always made and it came from the side of the can. They don't use it on the can anymore, at least not the ones I have seen.
