Glazed Baked Spam

Still good after so many years
This was one of my Dad’s favorite meals. He liked it with baked potatoes, which of course were from our garden.
Either Green Beans or Peas were the vegtable of choice.  Sue and my daughter use a similar product they buy at Aldi's and like it better than Spam. I still use Spam and fix the whole can just for my self as it freezes well. Slice and freeze the extra slices and you have the start of another meal.

    1. As I am also cooking for one now, it is nice when you find something that freezes well isn't it. Baked Spam is my favorite way to fix it.

  3. I like Spam too. My two favorite ways to enjoy it are Spam and Scrambled Eggs and Spam Fried Rice. I will enjoy trying this recipe out.

    1. I like Spam fried rice also. Did you know that Spam is very popular in Hawaii?

  4. I loved Spam as a kid and still enjoy it. These days I prefer Spam Lite and Turkey Spam over the original. Spam in a macaroni salad is the bomb, as well as in a grilled cheese.

    1. I tried both of them, but must confess I like the original best even if it is loaded with sodium. And yes, Spam is great in a grilled cheese sandwich.

  5. I love fried Spam, but when I was growing up, we only had it when my dad wasn't home. He got enough Spam during WWII to last him a lifetime, evidently! My father-in-law was the same way for the same reason.

    1. I think a lot of Service Guys feel that way about Spam, mine didn't and liked it baked or just about any other way.

    1. I didn't think there were many people who hadn't eaten Spam at one time or another. There are other canned luncheon meats but Spam is the best known brand.

Fried Spam with scrambled eggs in the morning - Yum. Or egg & Spam omelet.
I have even diced up some Spam to put in with Mac & Cheese
Hubby likes his Spam & mustard sandwiches.
Myrna; Thanks for sharing the recipe.

  8. I used to make this for myself and my children. It has been years since I've made this but I will be making this for my Christmas dinner this year. Yum!

    1. There has to be a reason that Spam has been on the Market for so many years, must be because it tastes to good?
      Hope you still enjoy it.

  9. OMG! Thank you! My mother use to make a “baked Spam” studded with cloves, surrounded with baby Lima beans, canned stewed tomatoes and canned yams! It was one of my favorites and 60+ years later my family still loves it!!!

    1. Your mother sounds like a Southern cook...good vegetable choices! I went to high school and college in Texas and worked in hospital kitchens in Texas and Georgia where my husband was at Fort Gordon and learned to like lima beans and yams there.
