Decorated with lights for the holidays...The Oskaloosa Public Library in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
The library was built in 1902 with a grant from the Carnegie Corporation and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The decorated part is the original library, it extends back more than twice the size after an expansion and remodeling done in 1996 (some of the extended building is visible on the right).
All of the buildings in the downtown square are "painted" with lights; and the community draws a big crowd for it's lighted Christmas parade. This year some 1200 cars drove by the floats and lighted downtown instead of people mingling on the streets as usual.
WOW! That's a lot of lights.
ReplyDeleteLovely. As a librarian I think this is wonderful!
