Spiral Pasta Salad

I was bored with the usual Macaroni Salad I make and tried this recipe for Spiral Pasta Salad from the Taste Of Home. I had three yes votes and one no vote. Bettie’s boss really liked it and requested the recipe. Since there were enough who liked it, I will make it again.
I did make one change, I used chili sauce instead of ketchup. I really like it better in recipes calling for ketchup. However, if you don’t have any on hand, ketchup is what the recipe calls for and I am sure it is just as great tasting. I used Creamette’s spiral pasta as I think it is not as thick as some of the others. This is a good warm weather treat and tasted better the next day.
 Spiral Pasta Salad
3 cups cooked spiral pasta (8 ounces uncooked)
½ cup chopped green pepper
½ cup sliced celery
½ cup chopped tomato (I used the whole tomato)
½ cup shredded carrot
DRESSING
¼ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup cider vinegar
¼ cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons ketchup
4 teaspoons sugar
½ teaspoon salt. Optional
¼ teaspoon ground mustard (dry mustard)
¼ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon oregano
In a large bowl, combine the pasta, green pepper, celery, tomato and carrot. In a jar or small deep bowl, combine dressing ingredients; mix well. Pour over salad and toss. Chill before serving.
