Use It Up...Fruit in Pies

If you’re going to use up some fruit, whether it's apples, lemons, strawberries, rhubarb, pineapple, peaches, plums, raisins, blueberries or any other fruit, a pie or crisp or cobbler is the best way!  You can mix your fruits and often substitute fruits in recipes to make use of what you have.
Here are just a few suggestions,  I had trouble knowing when to quit, as we have many more recipes like these on the blog.

  1. Pies, pies! I love pies. And, for some reason, no trouble getting rid of them around here. We may go on a pie diet soon. Still have raspberries, blueberries, pumpkin and rhubarb in the freezer that I thought we would have devoured this winter. Well, we did eat our share of all of them, but apparently I put by more than we needed!

  3. I always enjoy your posts. We cook a lot alike. I like your recipes - it is just the two of us (and the dog) so whatever I cook, we eat several times and/or freeze the rest. We try really hard to waste nothing! Keep up the good work please.

  4. My husbands doctor says he has a 108 year-old patient...she told him she has pie with every meal!
    Guess she's on to something.

  5. While aren't all of so nice. I must admit as I can't have the gluten everybody gets their piece and the rest leaves.
Just too tempting sitting on the counter.
